16 year old Armed Robbery Victim in Port Hueneme

Port Hueneme Police Department – Incident Press Release

On January 8, 2018 at 9:35 PM, Officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department responded to an armed robbery in the 2600 block of Rudder Avenue, Port Hueneme.

The 16 year old victim told the officers that he went to the 2600 Block of Rudder Avenue to sell his “Play Station.”  He had made arrangements to sell the item by using an app called “Offer Up.”

The victim was driven to the area by his mother and when he arrived he made contact with suspect #1.  The suspect grabbed the Play Station and fled on foot.  The victim and his juvenile cousin gave chase but were than met by Suspect #2, who had his faced covered with a bandana and was holding a large knife.  After being threatened, the victims went back to their vehicle and contacted the police.

When officers first arrived they saw the first suspect in the north alley of the 600 Block of Halyard Street.  The suspect fled dropping the Play Station.  A search was conducted for the suspect however they were not located.  The victim was not injured.
