A New Year full of Laughs Up Ahead at Hillcrest Center for the Arts

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Live Standup Comedy on the Hill returns Saturday, January 12 at 8:00 pm at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Dr, across from The Oaks Mall.  January’s lineup includes Andy Hendrickson, K-von and Julie Kidd.  Professional local comedian Jason Love produces this monthly show in collaboration with the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. The show features a new lineup each month with some of Hollywood’s funniest headliners.   All shows are 8:00 pm with doors opening at 7:30.  Due to the popularity of the shows, which sell out each month, all tickets are now reserved seating and are available three months in advance.  The hour and a half show is for eighteen years and up only, and beer and wine may be purchased with valid ID.     

K-von claims to be the most famous half-Persian comedian in the world, possibly because he might be the only one.  He is the star of MTV’s hit show “Disaster Date”, and his comedy has received rave reviews on NBC’s ‘Last Comic Standing’, NETFLIX, SHOWTIME, CNN’s “HLN”, Good Morning America, BBC and NPR.  His online sketches and stand up have garnered millions of views, alongside his viral ‘TED Talk’.  He also produced an award-winning documentary about Persian New Year, and is currently working on a book which details his unique upbringing and journey into comedy.  Stand-up has taken K-von around the world several times performing in comedy clubs, theaters, colleges, and for large non-profit organizations. His style is versatile yet relatable with fun storytelling and high-energy performances about a variety of mainstream topics.

Andy Hendrickson

Andy Hendrickson is a comedian, writer and actor that built his career in New York City. He now resides in Los Angeles. For 15 years he has been using a conversational style and material based on real life experiences.  He’s had multiple TV appearances including: The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Gotham Comedy Live and NBC/Seeso’s The Guest List.  Internationally, Andy has performed at clubs and festivals throughout the world, including Canada, England, Holland and Ireland.  He also performed for our troops on Outback’s Feeding Freedom Tour that provided entertainment for the troops on military bases across Afghanistan.  His comedy CD “Underachiever” recently released to rave reviews and debuted in the iTunes Top 10.

Producer and host Jason Love has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent, and over 20 national broadcasts.   He has performed overseas for the troops and on the seas for cruise lines, and was a finalist at the Cabo Comedy Festival.  Jason’s non-profit, Love & Laughter, brings free shows to cancer support communities and others in need.

Standup Comedy on the Hill tickets are $15 for reserved premium seats and $12 for reserved seats presale.  All tickets at the door are $15 on the day of show.  Tickets may be purchased at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts Box Office or by calling (805) 381-1246 or www.hillcrestarts.com.
