Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Band Supports Local Education with Financial Grant

By Peter K. Godinez, Xerox Ambassador to Education

Motivated by an article added by Citizens Journal US Editor-in-Chief Debra Tash on August 21, 2016 entitled “Ventura Education Partnership Announces $42,500 in Funding to VUSD Teachers”, I grabbed my highest quality iPhone and walked across the street from my Office at the Ventura Executive Suites.  It so happened that the presentation of the check was taking place at Plaza Park on a date and time I was available.  I was going to have the opportunity to interview Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, a band who I had seen play at the Super Bowl XXXIII half-time show in 1999 alongside Stevie Wonder, and Gloria Estefan.

Instead of writing more about it, I produced this video for your Internet viewing pleasure.

Special thanks to Sabrena Rodriguez, President of the Ventura Education Partnership, who made me feel like a real VIP reporter and my mentor and friend George Miller, who encourages me to first read the Bible every day, then to read the great Ventura County News in http://.citizensjournal.us

Editor’s note: Mr. Godinez is too modest to mention that he is the 1981 NCAA Decathlon champion!
