The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley will hold their 15th Annual ‘Stand Up for Kids’ Gala Dinner & Auction on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village.

The annual Gala Dinner & Auction is the largest fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley.  Evening highlights include a silent & live auction, gourmet dining, entertainment, and dancing.  The Gala helps support over 4,200 children in quality before and after school programs, sport leagues and summer camps.

This year’s co-event sponsors are Morton Capital Management and Dr. Richard Grossman Community Foundation.  Event honorees are Bob & Audrey Byers, and Jack Gleason will be recognized with the Cal Johnston Service Award.  Retired Commander-Chief of Police, Randy Pentis, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.  The ‘After Party’ music will be provided by locals, Orchid & Beryl.

About Event Honorees – Bob & Audrey Byers

Bob & Audrey Byers have contributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs through their volunteer efforts.  Bob Byers worked in many corporate settings including the North American Aviation in Palmdale and later accepted a position at a large respiratory manufacturing/sales company, Puritan-Bennett.  He quickly became a top salesman at Puritan-Bennett before assuming a sales position with Daylin Medical.  His career path continued to evolve leading to the start-up of his own company, Tri-anim, joined by two other top salesmen he was affiliated with during his career.  The name, Tri-anim stands for “Tri”, the three salesmen joining together and “Anim”, the Latin derivative of the word anima meaning, “Life, Breath & Soul”.  During that time, Bob met and married his wife, Audrey and combined both of their families together with Audrey also working in the business.  Besides playing an active role with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, the Byers are also involved with the DAV-Disabled American Veterans, serving as members of the DAV’s, Commanders Club and support the Mammoth Lakes College, the Boy Scouts and Special Olympics.

    About Jack Gleason

Jack Gleason started his career off in real estate and spent the first 20 years working for companies that were involved in single family, multifamily and industrial development and construction throughout California.  His many accomplishments included the development of Talus Ranch, a 1,600-acre master plan community in Phoenix, Arizona.  Later, he was recruited by Del Webb Corporation as President of a 4,500-acre joint venture known as the Foothills.  His continued success evolved when he was promoted to a corporate officer and was a key resource in expanding and developing the Sun City communities throughout the country.  In addition, Gleason served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.  For over 35 years, Gleason has been involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs organization, serving as past Chairman of the Board of Metropolitan Phoenix and as a board member of the San Dieguto Boys & Girls Clubs.  He is also a founding member of Kids at Hope and is currently an active member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo, sharing his talents and experience.
