The City of Camarillo and Camarillo LDS Church are presenting the 7th annual Emergency Expo on Saturday, September 22, in Constitution Park.  The Emergency Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is free to attend.  The event has something for everyone, and is a fun way to help prepare your home or business for emergencies.

Numerous organizations, retailers, and services will be at the Expo, including the Ventura County (VC) Fire Department, VC Sheriff’s DART and Kid Print programs, the Sheriff’s Bomb Unit, hands-on CPR and AED instruction with AMR Ambulance, emergency food canning, the Red Cross, Seabees, National Weather Service, United Blood Services (bloodmobile), Sheriff’s DUI trailer, Coast Guard rescue vessel, CSUCI Emergency Services, Southern CA Edison, Identity Medical, GLEAW Technology, VC Animal Services, 211-VC, Boys and Girl Scouts, Blue Can Emergency Water, Damsel in Defense, Home Depot, and Costco.

Canning food for emergency storage is a specialty of LDS Church members.  Visitors to the Expo are invited to bring dry goods for canning ($1.25 per can).

The Expo will also include face painting and bounce houses for the kids, as well as a gourmet taco truck.  The event is a great opportunity for photos with military and emergency personnel, and the U.S. Coast Guard will be landing one of their helicopters around noon.

Free hydration backpacks (pictured) will be given to the first 300 guests at the Emergency Expo who visit at least eight of the event booths and demonstrations.
