Camarillo Police – Coffee with a Cop Event

    News Release

The Camarillo Police Department is proud to announce another “Coffee with a Cop” day. Coffee with a Cop brings deputies and community members together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about resources, services, and needs of the community.

The month of May is being celebrated as “Mental Health Awareness Month” for 2022. The Camarillo Police Department houses the Ventura County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program at the police station.  CIT works with all Ventura County law enforcement agencies to provide officer training and to collaborate and connect with service providers and community partners. One of those partnerships is with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Tuesday, May 17th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Camarillo deputies, the Ventura County CIT  Program Assistant, and a member from NAMI will be at Starbucks located at 2306 East Las Posas Road (Arneill Road and E. Las Posas Road) sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors. Community trust is one of the key elements to the success of the Camarillo Police Department. By sitting down and having a simple conversation, deputies, and the community members they serve, can continue building and growing together.

The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank Starbucks for their partnership and ongoing support with these events. These events will continue at various local businesses throughout the year.

Building relationships – one cup at a time.
