Carjacking in Simi Valley | Suspect captured right AWAY!

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

At around 3PM today, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a carjacking in progress near the intersection of Angela St and Rebecca St. 

Officers learned that a 77 year old Simi Valley resident had given a ride to a female juvenile when the female passenger demanded the keys to the vehicle. There was a struggle for the keys and the female passenger physically removed the victim from the car. As the suspect drove away, she ran over the legs of the victim. SVPD Officers located the victim’s vehicle abandoned in the nearby neighborhood. 

Area residents directed SVPD Officers to where the carjacking suspect was last seen and containment was quickly set up. Within minutes, Officers had captured the suspect in the area of Eileen St and Vanessa St. 

The suspect was a 17 year old female from the City of Ventura. She was later booked at juvenile hall. 

The carjacking victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.
