Charges Filed in Stabbing Death of Camarillo Man

VENTURA, California – District Attorney Gregory D. Totten announced that Bryn Spejcher (DOB 01/25/91), of Thousand Oaks, has been charged in Ventura County Superior Court case number 2018018798 with murder, and a special allegation that she personally used a knife, for the stabbing death of Chad O’Melia on May 28, 2018. 

On May 31, 2018, detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested Spejcher at a local hospital for the Memorial Day homicide of Mr. O’Melia, also a resident of Thousand Oaks.  Mr. O’Melia died from multiple stab wounds sustained during an altercation with Spejcher, with whom he had been in a dating relationship. 

Spejcher appeared in court on June 4, 2018. Arraignment was continued to July 6, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 14 of the Ventura Superior Court, County of Ventura. Spejcher is currently in custody with bail set at $510,000.
