President Trump: “We are the future of the Republican Party”
“Now you finally have a president, finally. Took you a long time,” said President Donald J. Trump to his cheering supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland on Friday.
President Trump vowed to keep his campaign promises, specifically to repeal and replace Obamacare, build the Keystone and Dakota pipelines, build a wall on the southern border, and restore military funding. He also promised to restore the greatness of the American economy and bring back manufacturing jobs to the country. “The GOP, from now on, will be the party of the American worker.”
Trump became the first sitting president since Ronald Reagan to address CPAC in his first year in office. And he told the rally goers he would be back next year. “I love this place, love you people. I wouldn’t miss a chance to talk to my friends, these are my friends. Ad we’ll see you again next year and the year after that.”
“There is no such thing as a global anthem, a global currency or a global flag. This is the United States of America that I’m representing,” said Trump. “I will never ever apologize for protecting the safety and security of the American people. I won’t do it.”
“I want you to all to know that we are fighting the fake news. It’s phony, fake. I called the fake news the enemy of the people. They are the enemy of the people because they have no sources. They just make them up when there are none.”
“The forgotten men and women of America will be forgotten no longer. That is the heart of this new movement and the future of the Republican Party.” Trump told conservatives: “We are the future of the Republican Party. It’s patriots like you that made it happen, believe me.” “We have to turn things around. The era of empty talk is over; it’s over. Now is the time for action. The future belongs to all of us.”
Vice President Mike Pence: We ‘will fight for Americans every single day’
Vice President Mike Pence said that the Trump administration “will fight for Americans every single day” Thursday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, while charging conservatives to “march forward as if it’s the most important time in the history of our movement, because it is.”
Speaking of the presidential election, Pence said, “The establishment never saw it coming. The media elites, the insiders, everybody else who profits off preserving the status quo, they just dismissed our President every step of the way. They dismissed millions of the hard working forgotten men and women who make this country great.”
“But our fight didn’t end on November 8th, we won the day, make no mistake about it, the harder work, the most important work now lies ahead. The fight goes on. Let me make you a promise, President Trump will fight for you every single day.”
“President Trump is a man of his word and we’re keeping the promises he made to the American people.”
“This is the chance we’ve worked so hard for so long to see. This is a time to prove again, that our answers are the right answers for America. A strong military, more jobs, less taxes, respect for the Constitution and the values that have made America great and a deep and abiding faith in the goodness of the American people.”
“The success of our movement and more importantly the success of our country, depends as much on all of you as it does on us. We must all of us rise to the challenge before us tomorrow and every day thereafter. The other side is not sitting idle and their allies in the media are more than willing to amplify their defense in the failed status quo every single day.
“The best days for America are yet to come. Let’s get to work.”
