Simi Valley: Crime Stoppers is Seeking Your Assistance with Graffiti Tagging

The Crime Stoppers Program relies on the cooperation among the community, the police and the media to provide a flow of information regarding crime and criminals. Quite often, citizens witness all or part of a crime without being aware of what they have seen. The witnesses unknowingly possess key information that could aid police in solving the crime.

Recently, the Texas Tract was targeted by vandals causing damage by spray painting a logo (tagging) onto private vehicles, gates, fences, walls, mailboxes, driveways and even the side of a residence.

If you know who the suspects are or might have any information which could lead to an arrest(s) you may be eligible to receive a $1,000 reward. Please contact Ventura County Crime Stoppers through one of the following venues: you may text “BUSTED” your crime tip to CRIMES (274637), by telephone 800-222-TIPS (8477), or submit a tip online at: www.venturacountycrimestoppers.org.

When a citizen contacts Crime Stoppers, the call taker records the tip information and gives the caller a code number. All calls remain confidential. The tip line operators do not need names or telephone numbers unless the caller wishes to share their personal information. The code number will be used to give additional information and to collect a reward.

For additional information please contact Crime Prevention Specialist Jean-Marie Maroshek at jmaroshek@simivalley.org or (805)583-6276.
