    A Halloween-themed Fundraising Event For Young Artists Ensemble

    THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Hillcrest Center for the Arts presents Bloody Bloody Cabaret in October, on Friday the 13th at 8:00pm. at in the patio theatre at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Dr. in Thousand Oaks. This Halloween themed cabaret show will feature the best creepy songs that Broadway has to offer, and is rated R for adult content.  Proceeds from this event will benefit Young Artists Ensemble.

    Tonight is the night when dead leaves fly!  Anything can happen on a spooky Friday the 13th in a dark and scary outdoor theatre among craggy oak trees far up on an ancient hillside.  If the witches from Macbeth were there, they would call up the theatre spirits from Broadway’s past to sing the darkest and most terrifying music from the best musicals of all time.  Beware of spirits, elves and sprites!  And please, leave the kids at home.

    Young Artists Ensemble is an award-winning theatre company for young people that has received many accolades, including the Encore Statue Award from the City of Thousand Oaks for Excellence in the Arts. On Sunday, June 4, 2017, Young Artists Ensemble received 38 nominations and thirteen wins for their 2016-17 Productions at the 12th Annual National Youth Arts Awards.  The winners included Outstanding Production: Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical: Lyda Jade Harlan as Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Julia Lester as Carrie White in Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Lead Actress (Junior Division): Jaden Levinson as Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables, Outstanding Supporting Actress (College Division): Katherine Steele as Margaret White in Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical: Kate Fruehling as Sue Snell in Carrie: The Musical, Arielle Jacobellis as Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Outstanding Featured Actress (Junior Division): Marissa Margolis as Young Fiona in Shrek the Musical, Outstanding Lighting Design: Ken Milbrett for Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Set Design: Mark Andrew Reyes for Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Choreography: Anthea Stobie for Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Musical Direction: Zachary Spencer for Carrie: The Musical, Outstanding Direction: Mark Andrew Reyes for Carrie: The Musical.
