Carnegie Art Museum is pleased to be the host site for College Night CSUCI, the first event of its kind in Ventura County organized and developed by students, for students. Thursday, May 1st, from 6-9pm, the students of the Museum Class at California State University Channel Islands have planned music, tabletop art workshops, and living sculptures-both inside and outside the Museum. Also debuting is a filmed interview produced by the class with artist Hiroko Yoshimoto
www.hirokoyoshimoto.com, whose Biodiversity exhibit at the Museum is sponsored by Union Bank and accompanied by a catalog supported with a lead contribution from Community Memorial Health System and individual donors.

In honor of the event, CSUCI President Richard Rush will address students at 6:45pm. Additionally Carnegie will host a college student art exhibit at the neighboring CAM Studio Gallery. Guest Studio Artist and recent CLU grad, Luis Pena will be on hand to share a 21st century take on figurative painting.

College Night coincides with Oxnard Downtown Management District’s first Thursdays Gourmet Food Trucks 5-10pm at Plaza Park next to the
Museum, bringing a multi-national array of portable, affordable and delicious eats to the art event. Thanks to ODMD, the CSUCI Museum Class
has selected Gourmet Food Truck’s DJ and guest band.
