Westlake Village, CA – The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their annual 2019 Regional Economic Forecast on Friday, June 21 from 7-9 a.m. at the Sheraton Agoura Hills Hotel with breakfast and check-in starting at 6:45 a.m. The event will feature keynote speakerKristin Decas, CEO & Port Director for the Port of Hueneme and an economic update by Dr. Matthew Fienup, Executive Director of the Center for Economic Research and Forecasting at California Lutheran University.
Keynote Presenter
Under Kristin Decas’ leadership, Port of Hueneme related activities generate $1.7 billion in annual economic impact and create more than 15,834 direct, indirect, induced and influenced jobs. Since Decas took the helm at the Port of Hueneme in 2012, the Port’s revenues have climbed over 30% and in 2017 the Port became the first in California to become Green Marine certified. Ms. Decas is the current President of the California Association of Port Authorities (CAPA) and was recently a Woman of the Year Award Recipient for Senate District 19.
Economic Expert Presenter
Dr. Fienup teaches Statistical Methods, Macroeconomics and Environmental Economics in the Masters of Quantitative Economics program at Cal Lutheran. His specialties are applied econometric analysis, the economics of land use, and environmental markets. Dr. Fienup is a member of the Wall Street Journal Economic Forecasting Survey. He is also the Chair of the Fox Canyon Water Market Group and was recently chosen by Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency to serve as exchange administrator for an innovative, first of its kind water market pilot program.
The forecast will be moderated by John Loesing, Managing Editor for the Acorn Newspapers. A hot buffet breakfast will be served starting at 6:45 a.m. and the program will begin promptly at 7:15 a.m.
