doctor arial,sans-serif;”>Thanksgiving is a day to be with family and friends. It is often a day we tend to overeat—from the Thanksgiving meal itself to extra helpings of pumpkin pie. The Simi Valley Family YMCA is inviting the community to burn off those extra calories at its eighth annual free “Turkey Burn Off,” Friday, November 27.

Participants can take part in a series of 30-minute, group exercise classes from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with new classes starting every half hour. The classes include spinning, Pilates, yoga, muscle conditioning, cardio fusion and strength endurance. The classes are designed for all fitness levels. No pre-event signups required.

“Hit the stores early to shop and then join us later in the morning to burn off the extra Thanksgiving-day calories,” says Stacey Huff, associate executive director at the Simi Y. “You’ll feel great and won’t feel guilty about eating all the Thanksgiving leftovers.”

For more information, call the Simi Y at 805-583-5338. The Simi Y is located at 3200 Cochran Street in Simi Valley.
