    0

Visitors are invited to the sixth annual Owl Festival, a free family event on Sunday, April 23 from 11 am-3 pm at the historic Olivas Adobe, located at 4200 Olivas Park Drive in Ventura.

Guests can enjoy interactive fun including grinding corn and making tortillas, as well as crafting adorable “pet” owls, and shopping for beautiful jewelry, fine art, photography and more. The Channel Islands Gourd Society will display their gorgeous artistic designs, and the Channel Island Carvers will demonstrate their woodworking creations. Music will be provided throughout the day by Leif Engeswick, who will play his “Book Organ,” a magnificent vintage instrument.

The Ojai Raptor Center will highlight the day at 1:00pm, bringing live owls and hawks for visitors to learn about and see.

The Olivas Adobe Historic Interpreters, who present the Owl Festival, will offer costumed docent-led tours to bygone days of life at the adobe. Owl-related gifts and souvenirs will be available from the Olivas Adobe gift shop, and food and coffee trucks will be on site.
