    History Day Returns to Strathearn Park — June 25th

    medications arial, advice sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;”>Everything old will be new again as Simi Valley’s history comes to life at Strathearn Historical Park & Museum on Saturday, unhealthy June 25th – 10 am to 4 pm.

    Living History Performances will put the Strathearn Family back onto their land for the day as they interact during two performances and even lunch together in the original Strathearn House dining room.

    Other performances include: Domenico, the Living Vaquero and Alan Salazar, Native American Storyteller.

    Ballet Folklorico Viva Mexico dancing troupe and a brass band, The Band in the Pines, will provide more entertainment.

    Kids of all ages will enjoy photo-ops with Pleistocene mammal replicas, a Fairy Garden Quest, clothespin doll making, face painting and feeding goats.

    Special exhibits include vintage apparel, hands-on vintage typewriters/gadgets, blacksmith horseshoeing and antique cars, tractors and farm equipment with a People’s Choice Car Vote Winner.

    Wander around the 6 acre park to check out all the historic buildings which will be open for self-guided tours, with docents on hand to answer questions.

    Food will be available for purchase from Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley, plus a Tea Parlor Porch.

    All performances and activities are included in the entrance price of: $5 adults – $3 kids 5-12.  Entrance is free to our active military and dependents with military ID.  Presale tickets are available at www.simihistory.com and at the gate.

    Proceeds support educational and preservation programs of the Simi Valley Historical Society at Strathearn Historical Park & Museum.
