    Rob McCoy

You will be greeted as an honored guest, fed, entertained, informed, challenged and provided with stimulating company of peers and diverse others.

Our keynoter, Calvary Chapel Godspeak Pastor/Thousand Oaks Mayor ProTem Rob McCoy (Bio), is a riveting and intellectual speaker who really nails his points and backs them up with research- socially, financially, even theologically. He will discuss the First Amendment, role and responsibility of a free press, its current state and moral responsibilities.

Your arrival/greeting will be followed by a wine tour trail, with an ample supply and variety of fine vintages* from all over the world, via Whole Foods and vintners: domestic- Portlandia (Oregon), Broadside(Paso Robles), Lincourt (Sta Rita Hills), assorted S American and Southern Hemisphere (S Africa, New Zealand, Aus) to fuel our tasting sessions. It will be led/narrated by Tom Adams, Certified Sommelier, of Epic Wines & Spirits along with advice for wine pairings. Gourmet cheeses, hot “covered dish” treats, live music, raffle prizes…TONS O FUN!

From there, “graduates” of the wine tour will gather in a reception before being addressed by our hosts, POV, then Citizens Journal’s Editor and Publisher. Pastor Rob will deliver his keynote, followed by Gloria Massey-Chinea of Election Integrity Project- California. Noted actress, author and talk show host Sam Sorbo will wrap up the formal program, followed by dancing. Anytime someone isn’t talking, you will likely hearing the chords of musician Dr. Scott O’Neil. You’ll also be intermittently hearing of prize raffle and auction announcements and results.

    Background

Citizens Journal  come a long way since our humble beginnings on 6-21-13, when we published our first issue and formally rolled out the CitizensJournal.us website. Our Facebook page followed almost immediately. 18,000+ articles later, we have added sections and distribution channels, getting the message to thousands of readers each week.

    Citizens Journal first issue 6 21 13

Citizens Journal came to be because our team and supporters saw that regional journalism was lacking objectivity and alternative viewpoints.

We want to move to the next level. But to grow, it means raising more money and attracting more talent for various tasks, including writing, circulation, operations and web/technical. We want to improve content and expand circulation to get the message out to more people.
