Let’s Go Camping: Murphy Auto Museum’s 5th Vintage Trailer Show, June 24

    0

The Murphy Auto Museum will host its one-day-only 5th Vintage Trailer Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 24.

Kicking off the summer season, the museum’s largest one-day annual event brings more than 40 retro camping trailers, campers, and exhibits from the 1930s to 1970s, complete with nostalgic period “campsite” settings and old school Americana and adventure gear.

A few models expected at the event, and on display inside the 30,000 square-foot museum through Oct. 1, 2017, include Airstream, Shasta, Hanson, Holiday House, Boles Aero, Jewel, Aristocrat and many others.

For inspiration — and to get a taste of what to expect at the show — check out a few recent museum videos by “Fireball”  Tim Lawrence highlighting a 1952 Hansen Love Bug, 1954 Jewel “Canned Ham,” 1960 Holiday House, 1962 Airstream Globetrotter, — just a four of the six trailers on permanent display at the Murphy:

“This one-day show is our largest of the entire year at the museum, and we are thrilled to welcome enthusiasts to stop by and travel back in time to see how previous generations experienced the great outdoors,” said David Neel, owner of the Murphy Auto Museum.

Admission for this one-day special event is $10 per adult and free to guests 12 and under. Active military personnel receive a complimentary entry with valid identification. All entries include the vintage trailer meet and entrance to the museum to view more than 80 classic cars, an expansive collection of pure Americana, and one of the largest, permanent 1,800-sq.-ft. model H/O railroad in existence. Live music will provide entertainment, and food will be available for purchase on site. Parking is complimentary.
