Since 2012, a total of over 1,184 pounds of unused / expired prescription medication has been collected from Leisure Village. Based on the success of these collections, the Camarillo Police Department and Leisure Village Security have been conducting additional collections at least twice a year. The Camarillo Police Department would like to remind citizens that unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to overdose and abuse. Unused drugs that are flushed contaminate the water supply.
The Camarillo Police Department would like to thank the residents of Leisure Village and Leisure Village Security for their help in making our community a safer one. As a reminder, if you want to drop off unused / expired medications at the Camarillo Police Department or any other Sheriff sub-station, we have Pharmaceutical drop-off bins in all of our lobbies. The lobbies at each sub-station are open Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM.
