Horses Heart and Soul is a non-profit organization created to teach dependents of the court and other selected children basic horsemanship paired with rescued horses. The Ojai Valley Trail Riding Company is sponsoring the 24th annual Saddle Up and Save Lives benefit horseback ride. 100% of the proceeds go to benefit Horses Heart and Soul and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The mission of Horses Heart and Soul is to provide dependents of the court and other at-risk children education opportunities in broad based horsemanship skills through a “hands on” experience in a safe and controlled environment. We will also acquire horses that need to be rescued and those that are determined safe and redeemable will be paired with the children selected for the programs.
Horses Heart and Soul will provide low cost or free instruction in beginning horsemanship, riding, and horse care, and at the same time, instruct the children in health care, up-keep, and management of horses in the stable atmosphere, thereby creating a sense of respect for the animals and ones own self, as well as teaching responsibility for the care and well being of the animal and the child. The Ojai Valley Trail Riding Company is a proud sponsor for this annual event.
