Everything old will be new again as “Simi Valley: Our Journey Through Time” brings the past to life at Strathearn Historical Park & Museum on Saturday, June 24th – 10 am to 4 pm.
Continuous activities and performances will bring entertainment and education to all ages: Living History Performances, Square Dancing (with participation encouraged), tractors, farm equipment, Simi Settlers Radio Club, People’s Choice Antique Car Show Winner and a Memory Lane exhibit of vintage Simi photos.
Kids activities include lots of old-time games, a “Fairy Garden Quest”, hands-on vintage typewriters/gadgets, feed the goats and face painting.
Other performances include: Vaquero Dressage, 1860’s clothing demonstration from the outside in, Simi’s Cults and Culprits presentation and blacksmith horseshoeing.
All the historic buildings will be open for self-guided tours, with docents on hand to answer questions.
Food will be available for purchase from Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley, plus a Tea Parlor Porch. The park’s Gift Shop and vendors will offer treasures for sale.
All performances and activities are included in the entrance price of: $5 adults – $3 kids 5-12. Entrance is free to our active military and dependents with military ID. Presale tickets are available at www.simihistory.com.
Proceeds support educational and preservation programs of the Simi Valley Historical Society at Strathearn Historical Park & Museum.
