    YOUNG ARTISTS ENSEMBLE HOLDS AUDITIONS FOR

    HILLCREST PLAYERS PRODUCTION OF LOOKING GLASS LAND

    The Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice

    THOUSAND OAKS, cialis Calif. – Young Artists Ensemble’s Hillcrest Players holds auditions for LOOKING GLASS LAND: The Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice directed by Stephanie Wilson and open to performers Age 7-14.  Auditions are January 18 and 19 by appointment only and are held at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, viagra 60mg 403 West Hillcrest Drive. Time slots begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday and 9:45 am on Sunday.  Actors are requested to prepare a one-minute memorized monologue or poem and should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in.   Each one hour and fifteen minute audition will consist of performing the monologue or poem, mind and may include improvisation, cold reading and light movement.  Callbacks will be held on Monday, January 20, 2013.  Performances are March 15 & 22, 2014.  Kati Angelini will Assistant Direct, and Anthony Angelini, General Manager at Uncut Casting Services, will serve as Casting Director.

    All participants must be at least 7 years old and not yet 15 years old by March 22, 2014.  Character descriptions and all other information is available on the YAE web site.    Rehearsals are Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays 1:00 to 4:00 pm beginning Thursday, January 23.  All cast and parents must attend a mandatory welcome meeting on Thursday, January 23 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.  If cast, there is a $180 participation fee.  Financial Assistance is available.                 This award-winning stage adaptation by renowned playwright James DeVita takes Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass and literally runs with it.  This delightful romp through Alice’s looking glass land retains all of the familiar characters then introduces dozens of new ones:  a baseball team, a train conductor, a peanut salesman, detectives, star-struck tourists, plastic light saber-wielding knights and much more.  Four performances only will be held on March 15 & 22 at 1:00 and 3:00 PM in the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks.

    The Hillcrest Players is an opportunity for young people ages 7-14 to learn the basics of theatrical storytelling in an ensemble-based one-act play where every cast member gets a moment to shine and the young actors learn to work together as a team.  LOOKING GLASS LAND: The Misadventures of a Girl Named Alice is produced by Megan McDonough.
