By Raven West
Two dozen VIP guests were treated to an International Wine Tasting extravaganza at the River Ridge Tasting Room, located at the River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard.
Bob Mazzola, Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET Level II), the regional sales manager of Carolina Wine Brands poured imported selections from the Santa Carolina vineyard in Chile including a Savignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carminere, all by winemaker Alejandro Wedeles.
Representing Classic Wines of California, Adrian Garcia poured a delightful Sauvignon Blanc from the Nimbus Single Vineyard located in Chile and a 2014 Torrontes and 2012 Malbec from Finca El Origen vineyards imported from Argentina.
From Italy came Passione Sentimento Veneto from the Famiglia Pasqua vineyard, celebrating the city of love, Verona, Italy.
A bit closer to home came two selections, a 2014 Chardonnay and a 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon form Domain Napa, both created by Winemaker John Allbaugh.
With the success of their first International Wine Tasting event, tasting room owner Chris Evans plans on hosting several more throughout the year.
