High School at Moorpark College Admissions Information Nights

The High School at Moorpark College (HS@MC) will host three Admissions Information Nights for families and students interested in an advanced high school experience and a head start towards a college education. Located on the Moorpark College campus, HS@MC is a “Middle College” that prepares motivated 11th and 12th-grade students to succeed in college and compete in the modern economy. The school instills a love for learning and develops academic excellence through its advanced curriculum and adapted student support services. Students and families interested in learning more about the program and its admissions process can attend an information session from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7th; Tuesday, March 20th; or Wednesday, April 18th at the Moorpark College Campus Center.

HS@MC’s thematic and integrated approach to learning helps students excel by developing their critical thinking skills and providing opportunities to earn college units. While HS@MC students enroll in English, Social Studies, and elective classes at the high school level, they also complete their Math, Science, and additional graduation requirements through courses at Moorpark College. “While enrolled in our unique program,” shares HS@MC principal Ruby Delery, “students earn at least one year of college transferrable units. We’re proud to expedite their path to an Associates or Bachelor’s degree and believe in supporting and challenging our students to be their very best.”

Young people who choose to attend HS@MC are focused on their futures and eager to learn alongside like-minded peers. The school’s specialized support and advanced academic preparation ensure that students progress at the highest level and are well prepared as they transition out of high school. Students also benefit from the small size of HS@MC’s cohort, allowing faculty and staff to meet students’ emotional and scholastic needs. “The small class sizes and access to college courses are perfect for me,” shares Julian Ros, who is currently enrolled at the school. “I have a safety net from my high school and real-world experience through Moorpark College, where I am already taking classes in my major. I feel prepared for a four-year college because of my time at HS@MC.” These specialized opportunities for educational and personal growth prepare students to achieve their goals and become productive members of their communities.
