Whether you’re a self-published or traditionally published author, you need a way to reach your audience. Emails, e-newsletters, Facebook and other social media marketing is “old school” and can be a waste of time and money when it comes to promoting yourself in an overcrowded and over-saturated market.
Raven West has been a published author for more than 25 years. She’s tried hundreds of traditional marketing and advertising methods including hiring a book publicists, attending book fairs, and posting on all social media sites with less than stellar sales results.
A few months ago, Raven created a text message “Fan Club” with SENTEXT, Attract New Business – Increase Repeat Business – Grow your sales every month!. She added the banner (see above) to her FACEBOOK page, LinkedIn site, Author’s page, website, blog and her email signature. In less than one month, Raven’s Fan Club grew to more than 2,500 fans worldwide. By texting directly to her fan club members, book sales for her other novels and attendance at her book-signing events more than tripled!
