Lawmakers Reconcile On California Net Neutrality Measure

The Confederate State of California is going to have its own Internet policies.  Chaos?  You can not imagine the amount of chaos this will cause nationally—with California having one set of rules—and the rest of the country and world with another.  Expect lots of lawsuits—but also expect Third World Internet coverage as web sites and firms use world standards, not California standards.  Brown wanted to be President, it looks like he is.

“as AT&T and Comcast from charging websites fees to reach customers or from incentivizing certain companies’ content by exempting it from data caps.

Assemblyman Miguel Santiago chaired the committee that stripped both of those provisions, after objections from internet providers. Santiago and Wiener, who exchanged sharp words at the bill’s hearing, depicted the dispute as arising from the committee’s deadline to act.

“We sat down right after that and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got to work on this and get it right.’ This is where we’re at now,” Santiago said.

Government, in California is demanding to control the Internet, instead of the Free Market—look at Cuba and Venezuela and see how well that works.  If the Internet is important to you, this is another reason to leave California.
