Moorpark City Councilmember David Pollock Announces Bid for Re-election to the Moorpark City Council

(Moorpark, CA) – Moorpark City Councilmember David Pollock has formally announced his re-election bid to the Moorpark City Council in the November 6, 2018 election. He is running for this third full term on the City Council and is the only incumbent running.

“I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to work on improving our community over the past nine years; helping to make it an even better place to live, work and raise a family,” David stated. “I hope to continue my service to the community over the coming years as our city continues to grow and thrive. The next four years will be critical for the development of downtown Moorpark and I hope to continue to lead a people-oriented approach to make downtown Moorpark the true community crossroads we all envision it to be.”

David Pollock has served on the Moorpark City Council since winning a special election in 2009. He was elected to his first full term in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. He began serving the community as an elected official in 1994, when he was first elected to the Moorpark school board, where he was instrumental in implementing policies that led to a national reputation for academic excellence. David was the first school board member from Ventura County to serve as president of the California School Boards Association.

David continues to prioritize preserving our region’s environment while achieving economic growth. He serves on the Moorpark City Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee while also serving on the Ventura County Air Pollution Control Board, the Energy and Environment Committee for the Southern California Association of Governments and the Environmental Quality Committee for the League of California Cities.  David also serves as vice president of the League’s Channel Counties Division representing 25 cities across three counties.

David continues striving to improve the community outside of his official public service role. As a longtime advocate and expert for improving education, David serves as President of the Moorpark Education Foundation and is a member of the Moorpark College Foundation. David also works to improve healthcare and access to it by serving as a member of the Adventist Health Simi Valley Hospital Foundation.

David is a small business owner, managing a consulting firm focusing on business development. He was educated locally, receiving a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and an MBA from UCLA. He is married to his wife Diana, who is also active within our community. He has lived in Moorpark since 1989 where he raised his two children.
