On the early morning hours of 5/14/2017, patrol deputies responded to three separate commercial
burglaries and one attempted commercial burglary in the City of Moorpark. Each of the burglaries
appeared to have been committed within a few minutes of each other. Evidence located at the
scene of one of the burglaries included surveillance video, which indicated several suspects
driving a light colored Jeep Patriot SUV were responsible for the burglaries. A few minutes later,
deputies saw a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle depicted on the surveillance video
driving on Los Angeles Ave. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the
three occupants. During their initial contact with the occupants, deputies located a significant
amount of physical evidence linking them to the burglaries. During the investigation, detectives
identified a fourth suspect outstanding who also participated in the burglaries and had stolen
property from the burglaries at his residence.
The City of Thousand Oaks has been recently experiencing similar burglaries so they sent
detectives to assist with the investigation. Detectives later observed the outstanding suspect
leaving his home and they arrested him. A short time later, detectives served a search warrant at
the residence of the outstanding suspect and located additional evidence linking all of the
suspects to the burglaries. The three juveniles were lodged at Juvenile Hall and Dominic Thomas
was booked at the East Valley Jail in lieu of a $50,000 bail. The investigation is still ongoing to
determine if the same suspects were involved in the recent Thousand Oaks burglaries.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which
leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this
crime. The caller may remain anonymous. The call is not recorded. Call Crime
Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
