Motorcyclist injured in Oxnard Accident

On November 10, 2017, at approximately 7:56 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision involving a motorcyclist at the intersection of Oxnard Blvd. and Seventh St. When officers arrived, they determined that 30-year-old Oxnard resident, Victor Canizalez, was traveling northbound on Oxnard Blvd. on a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Canizalez collided with a 2003 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 17-year-old female who was traveling southbound on Oxnard Blvd. when the female driver attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Seventh St.  Canizalez was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.  After the initial collision Canizalez’s motorcycle was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruz that was traveling northbound on Oxnard Blvd.  Neither the 17-year-old driver of the Hyundai nor the driver of the Chevrolet was injured.  Canizalez was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.  It is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol were involved.  The collision is under investigation.
