Mustang Marketing owner Scott Harris releases ‘Coyote Creek’

Marketing agency’s founder publishes second Western novel in Brock Clemons trilogy

Founder and president of Mustang Marketing, the largest full-service marketing agency in Ventura County, Scott Harris, has released the second installment in his ongoing Western series capturing the journey of Brock Clemons — “Coyote Creek.” Continuing this tale of bravery, adventure and romance, the story of Brock Clemons transports readers back to a time when chivalry, courage and guns ruled the days in the West.

“Coyote Creek” follows Brock as he leaves Dry Springs—and the people he’s grown to love—in search of his father. Along the way, a shocking discovery in a creek bed alters the course of Brock’s travels, leading him to evaluate where his heart truly lies.

Harris introduced Brock Clemons in his first Western novel, “Coyote Courage,” which was released in January of this year. His other published works include “RoadMap: A Guide to a Successful Strategic Marketing Plan,” “Quips, Quotes and Occasional Words of Wisdom,” and “101Ventura County Leaders Go Back in Time to Their Twenty-First Birthday,” which he co-curated with business partner Dianne McKay in 2016.

“I am so honored that so many have grown to love Brock, Sophie, Huck and many of the other characters,” Harris said. “I have grown to love them right along with readers, which is what makes writing this series so enjoyable and fulfilling.”

An accomplished businessman and community leader, a driving force behind Harris’ venture into admittedly unknown territory as a Western novelist is something he describes as his “52” philosophy — a mentality that embraces the idea of learning, experiencing and accomplishing more by committing to working toward a specific goal each of the 52 weeks in a year. In theme with embracing his passion for Western fiction and the Western genre, in addition to his Brock Clemons trilogy, Harris is authoring write-ups on “52 Western Films in 52 Weeks,” “52 Western Books in 52 Weeks” and “52 Western Television Shows in 52 Weeks,” with the publication of “52 Western Books” due later this year.

When not pursuing his creative talents, Harris dedicates his time to developing creative strategy for a variety of clients and volunteering time with numerous nonprofits throughout the Ventura County.

“Coyote Creek” and its predecessor, “Coyote Courage,” are both available on Amazon for purchase, here. The next book in the trilogy, “Coyote Canyon,” is expected to be released in winter of 2017. For more information on Harris and Mustang Marketing, visit
