Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) opens its gates to the public for the annual NBVC Mud Run from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at NBVC Port Hueneme. NBVC welcomes participants and spectators.
The five-kilometer course, built each year by the pacific Seabees, presents more challenges than previous years. After a two-mile run, participants face multiple mud pits, low crawls through murky tunnels, an over-water ropes course, and several climbing obstacles. Course planning and construction take over four months by Seabee volunteers from Naval Construction Training Center and Naval Construction Group ONE.
NBVC Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) will be hosting a DJ, food, and activities for the kids. Awards will be presented to the top three men and women competitors. Victoria Gate at NBVC Port Hueneme will open for the public at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11. For more information about the Mud Run or to register, visit http://www.active.com/
