NBVC is open to the public for the NBVC Mud Run

Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) will open its gates to the public for the annual Mud Run from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at NBVC Port Hueneme.

The five-kilometer course, built each year by the Seabees, NBVC’s expeditionary construction group, will present even more challenges than previous events, with a two-mile run, multiple mud pits, low crawls through murky water and tunnels, an over-water ropes course, and several climbing obstacles.

NBVC Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) will be hosting a DJ, food, and activities for the kids. Awards will be presented to the top three men and women competitors. Victoria Gate at NBVC Port Hueneme will open for the public at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28. For more information and to register visit http://www.active.com/

The media is invited to attend this event with no special access requirements since the event is open to the public.
