New Oxnard business license tax rates will take effect July 1, 2017

By Phil Molina

.Oxnard City Officials and public:

.
Earlier this year I provided the Mayor and Council with the resolution and the CPI Index that is required to be used to increase the Oxnard business license taxes. I did not hear from the Mayor or Council concerning this information and, therefore, consistent with the Resolution 8506 the business license taxes have been adjusted and the new rates will be in effect starting July 1, 2017.
.
Please see below the new rates for business taxes FY 17-18 starting with the flat rate tax table, followed by the variable rate taxes schedules.  Based on the CPI index for Los Angeles-Riverside-Orange County Area the rates will increase by 2.1% this year. This increase will take effect on July 1, 2017
.
Per Resolution 8506:
.
“1. All flat fees will be adjusted by a percentage equal to the percentage change in the L.A. Long Beach/Anaheim Consumer Price Index (all urban consumers) for the preceding calendar year (January to January). “
.
“2. All gross receipts schedule ranges will be adjusted by a percentage equal to the percentage change in the LA/Long Beach/Anaheim Consumer Price Index (all urban consumers) for the preceding calendar year (January to January).”
.
Respectfully,

Phillip S. Molina

Oxnard City Treasurer
