Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
Beginning after 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning (8/31) the Simi Valley Police Department began responding to commercial business locations across the city which had been burglarized. The businesses were entered by force, including window and door smashes, as well as prying force. The cash registers were targeted at each location.

As of noon today there have been 11 identified locations:

The timing of some of these incidents leads the department to believe that more than one group or individual was involved. In one incident a dark sedan was observed on surveillance video. Other video evidence shows two male subjects wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and face coverings.

If anyone was in the area of one of these incidents around the time noted and observed anything suspicious please contact the department.

In order to reduce the chances that your business may be targeted, business owners are encouraged to leave a light(s) on and empty cash drawers at the close of business each day, making it obvious cash drawers/registers are empty.
