    International Hot Sauce Competition, Cash Prize Cornhole Tournament:

    Old Boney Mtn Hot Summer Night Festival – July 12, 2018

    The first International Hot Sauce Competition in the Conejo Valley and a California Cornhole Association-sanctioned Cornhole Tournament with cash prizes, plus unlimited craft beer, wine and food tastings are part of the Old Boney Mtn Hot Summer Night Festival, Thursday, July 12 at The Gardens at Los Robles Golf Course. The festival’s main beneficiary is The Grossman Burn Foundation Fireman’s Fund.

     

    Old Boney Mtn Hot Sauce Co., the Rotary Club of Newbury Park and Enegren Brewing Co. partnered on the event, “We were all devastated and had personal losses due to the Thomas Fire. We are incredibly thankful to the firefighters and community leaders who helped combat this worst firestorm in California history and to theGrossman Burn Center for tending injured firefighters. This is our way of giving back,” says Mary-Catherine McBride, event co-chair.

    Over 70 hot sauce entries from around the world will be available for tasting. “This is an opportunity to taste some incredible hot sauces that you will never get the chance to experience anywhere else,” says co-presenter Jeff Losey of Old Boney Mtn Hot Sauce Company. Attendees vote the “People’s Choice Award” for best hot sauce, best hot sauce label, best craft beer and best food.

    The California Cornhole Association is sanctioning the tournament making sure all game rules are followed. Space is limited to 32 teams. Cost per person is $30 with an 80 percent payout to top three winners.

    The event is supported by sponsors Storm-Larsen & Co.,  Tilted Kilt, Westlake Brewing & Libations, Norberg/Wilson Team at Aviara Real Estate, Wealthcare Alliance and Anarbagh Indian Restaurant. The festival will also feature live music and a silent auction.

    Festival hours are 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Gardens at Los Robles Golf Course is at 299 S. Moorpark Rd. in Thousand Oaks. Tickets are $55 online and $60 at the gate. Combo rate for cornhole contest entry plus unlimited tastings is $70. For tickets and cornhole registration, go to
