Original Moving Wall to be displayed at the Ventura County Government Center in June 2018

The Vietnam Veterans of Ventura County, Inc (VVVC) is sponsoring a display of the “original Moving Wall” from June 21, 2018 through June 25, 2018 at the Ventura County Government Center lawn in Ventura. The display will be open 24 hours continuously for the duration. An Honors ceremony will be held on Saturday June 23rd @ 11:am at the Military Memorial on the corner of Victoria and Telephone.

“The Moving Wall” is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for more than thirty years. John Devitt, Norris Shears, Gerry Haver, and other Vietnam veteran volunteers built The Moving Wall. It went on display for the first time in Tyler, Texas in October of 1984. Two structures of The Moving Wall now travel the USA from April through November, spending about a week at each site.

The VVVC is seeking volunteers to assist with the finding of names on the Wall and to provide “rubbings” for those that have friends or loved ones listed. Invitation Moving Wall Training
