Overnight Full Closures of State Route 126 in Ventura for Paving Operations

VENTURA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced plans to fully close State Route 126 (SR-126) next week for road paving operations in the city of Ventura.

From Monday, October 22 to Friday, October 26, the following full closures of SR-126 will be in place in the city of Ventura from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

 

• Monday, October 22: Eastbound and westbound SR-126 from Kimball Rd.to Victoria Ave.
• Tuesday, October 23: Eastbound SR-126 from Kimball Rd. to Victoria Ave. and westbound SR-126 from Victoria Ave. to Main St.
• Wednesday, October 24: Eastbound and westbound SR-126 from Victoria Ave. to Main St.
• Thursday, October 25: Eastbound SR-126 from Main St. to Victoria Ave. and westbound SR-126 from Kimball Rd. to Wells Rd.
• Friday, October 26: Westbound SR-126 from Kimball Rd. to Wells Rd.

Closures may start and end later. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change.  A signed detour will be posted for motorists who need to continue their commute SR126. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes or avoid the area. Additionally, motorists can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap.

The closures are part of a road paving project on SR-126 that stretches from US-101 to Haun Creek Bridge. C.A. Rasmussen Inc. of Valencia, CA is the contractor. Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
