Oxnard to Allocate Funds to Local Agencies that Provide Services to Seniors

Oxnard, California – The Oxnard City Council last week agreed to allocate $44,600 to 10 local agencies that provide services to senior citizens. Those agencies receiving funds include:

·         ACTION                                                                                              

·         CAREGIVERS: Volunteers Assisting the Elderly                                  

·         Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc.

·         Elderpride

·         FOOD Share

·         Grey Law of Ventura County Inc.

·         Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurses Association

·          Long Term Care Services of Ventura County, Inc.

·         St. John’s Senior Wellness Program

·         Ventura County Area Agency on Agency

The Senior Services Commission (SSC) Grant Program provides funds to support programs/organizations that serve residents of Oxnard who are 55 years or older. The money allocated comes from the city’s General Fund on an annual basis.
