Oxnard City Manager Gregeg Nyhoff Announces Selection of Downtown Revitalization Manager

After an extensive search, Oxnard City Manager Greg Nyhoff is excited to announce the appointment of Claudia Pedroso as Oxnard’s new Downtown Revitalization Manager who will assume her duties on December 4, 2017.  Ms. Pedroso currently serves as Senior Planner for the City of Thousand Oaks.

“I know that Claudia Pedroso is exceptionally qualified for this position and I am confident she will be a great asset to the Oxnard community and will assist with the implementation of the “Vision Plan” for downtown”, said Mr. Nyhoff.  “Claudia brings with her a mix of strategic planning, community outreach/engagement and organizational development.  She is passionate about her career in public service.” Nyhoff said.  “I’m excited to be part of the City of Oxnard’s team and look forward to bringing the vision for Downtown Oxnard revitalization to life.” said Claudia Pedroso.

Claudia Pedroso comes to Oxnard with over twenty-seven years of experience in planning and architecture, including nineteen years with the City of Thousand Oaks.  Claudia brings a good blend of private sector architectural consulting in numerous cities and counties, as well as public sector planning experience in a neighboring city.  Claudia has designed and prepared construction documents for hospitals, schools, commercial and residential projects, and served as the project manager for numerous projects.  She has also dealt with agencies such as Office of the State Architect and Office of the Statewide Health Department and many municipalities and counties.  As an individual with bilingual English/Spanish capabilities, she will be able to communicate with a diverse cross-section of the community.  Claudia currently serves as President of the Ventura County American Institute of Architects. 

Contributing to Claudia’s strong leadership and organizational management style is a broad educational background.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo; licensed architect in California; ICBO Certified Disabled Access Plan Checker; and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certified.
