Oxnard: Council candidate Madrigal pulls ahead of Starr; Molina widens Treasurer lead

In the continuing vote counting at Ventura County Elections headquarters, Oscar Madrigal has pulled ahead of Starr, while Phil Molina widened his lead over Larry Stein, the initial leader in the treasurer race.
Election officials said that they expect to have the final results by December 5.
But the big news is that in the City Council race, perennial candidate Oscar Madrigal has now surpassed Aaron Starr, from a couple of hundred votes behind to 525 votes ahead at latest count, at 13,249 (15.48%) for Madrigal vs. 12,724 (14.86%) for Starr This makes Madrigal a serious contender at this point. Incumbent Bryan MacDonald is the undisputed leader, clinching one of the two seats in contention, leaving the others to fight it out.
In the Oxnard Treasurer election race between leaders Phil Molina and Larry (Lawrence Paul) Stein, Phil Molina, Molina has decisively widened his lead at 18,906 (37.34%) to 18,197 (35.94%)- pulling ahead to a lead of 709 votes.
