Oxnard PD ask for Public’s Help in Fatal Hit and Run

On October 8, 2017, at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian which occurred in the 1400 block of West Gonzales Road.

The pedestrian, later identified as 70-year-old Oxnard resident Frank Ybarra, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Traffic investigators from the Oxnard Police Department conducted an extensive investigation and were able to obtain a description of the vehicle involved in the collision based on witness statements and surveillance videos.  The vehicle is described as a dark-colored pickup truck with tinted windows.  Based on scene evidence, investigators believe that the pickup truck will have noticeable front-end damage.  

Traffic investigators are requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in the collision.  Anyone who recognizes the pickup truck involved in the collision depicted in the following surveillance video images or who could provide information regarding the collision is urged to contact Officer Alvaro Pulido at (805) 200-5668 or via email at alvaro.pulido@oxnardpd.org.
