Oxnard | Robbery suspects arrested – Reportedly Used Gun

Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release  

At approximately 9:34 PM on 06/09/2018, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the 2600 Block of Ventura Boulevard.  Two victims reported that three suspects approached them and demanded property while one of the suspects brandished and fired a firearm. The suspects fled the area on foot after obtaining undisclosed property from the victims. The victims were not injured during the incident.

While deputies were attempting to locate the suspects, an unrelated juvenile notified a deputy that he too had been robbed at gunpoint.  The victim described how one suspect approached him, demanded property, and brandished and fired a firearm.  The suspect fled on foot with two other subjects after obtaining the victim’s undisclosed property.  The three subjects matched the description of the suspects from the previous robbery.  The victim was not injured during the incident.

A short time later, a patrol deputy located three subjects who matched the description of the suspects from the robberies.  The deputy was able to take Erwin Marquez into custody without incident, but Francisco Cardenas and Peter Lozano fled.  Additional deputies quickly located Cardenas and Lozano and took them into custody. 

A firearm and stolen property belonging to one of the victims was located at the scene.  Marquez was arrested for one felony count of robbery.  Lozano was arrested for one felony count of robbery and one felony count of resisting arrest.  Cardenas was arrested for two felony counts of robbery and one felony count of resisting arrest.  All three suspects were booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on 06/12/2018.
