Pair arrested for Vehicles Stolen in Thousand Oaks

On August 1, 2017, detectives assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department – Auto Crimes Unit arrested Sabastian Shannon and a male juvenile following a theft of a vehicle investigation.

In the early morning hours of August 1, 2017, a Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a mutual aid call to assist Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies with a possible unreported stolen vehicle that had been located in the Calabasas area. Thousand Oaks detectives responded to the scene and confirmed the vehicle had been stolen several hours prior from the victim’s residence. During the investigation, witnesses identified two suspects fleeing from the location where the stolen vehicle was located. A witness in the area recognized one of the suspects (juvenile male) walking nearby and contacted law enforcement. Thousand Oaks detectives with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies contacted and arrested the suspect.

Several hours later, Sabastian Shannon was contacted walking in the area and matched the description of the suspect that had been driving the stolen vehicle. Shannon was in possession of stolen property belonging to the victim and the ignition key to the victim’s stolen vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the male juvenile and Shannon conspired to commit vehicle thefts and thefts of property from vehicles in the Thousand Oaks area.

Shannon was booked into the Ventura County Jail. The male juvenile was lodged into Juvenile Hall.
