Oxnard Salvation Army’s Revamped Free Dental Clinic Open for Business

Oxnard, CA, March 7, 2018– The Salvation Army’s Oxnard Corps opened a free dental clinic in 1999. Due to the need to upgrade the service, the Oxnard Salvation Army gave its 2-chair dental clinic an extreme make-over, installing state of the art x ray and other dental equipment and remodeling the space to look like an up-scale dental office to provide medical services to the working poor in an environment of dignity and respect.  To showcase this new and improved free dental clinic, The Salvation Army in Oxnard is re-dedicating the space on Thursday, March 8, at 12 pm. where Mayor of Oxnard Tim Flynn, medical professionals, community leaders and clients will usher in this new era of health care. The Oxnard Dental Clinic is located at 622 W. Wooley Rd, Oxnard CA. Volunteer dentist, Dr. John V. McNeal will also be on hand to give attendees and media an up-close tour of the clinic.

Currently open all day on Monday and on some Thursdays – based on volunteer dentist and hygienist availabilities –  the dental clinic is capable of operating on a full-time basis…What it needs is more volunteer dentists and more volunteer dental technicians. This is a critical medical service being provided to uninsured adults throughout the south Ventura County region. The newly expanded space can accommodate more patients per day and make a dramatic difference in the lives of countless people. Volunteer dentists offer fillings, simple extractions, cleanings and x-ray services. Local dentists and health care professionals are encouraged to check out the clinic and if they want to roll up their sleeves and help, they can contact The Salvation Army Corps Officers, Lt. Joshua Humphrey or Lt. Chelcee Humphrey at 805 – 483 – 9235.

“It’s a privilege to be able to serve the people of South Ventura County,” said Lt. Joshua Humphrey, The Salvation Army Oxnard Corps Officer. “And we encourage local dentists, hygienists and anyone else who would like to help to join us and provide this most important service to our neighbors in need.”
