Santa Paula Concert Series Featuring Chris and Lorin Rowan

The Santa Paula Concert Series will present the Chris and Lorin Rowan on Saturday, May 19th at 7:00 PM at the historic Universalist Unitarian Church, a Ventura Historical County landmark, located at 740 East Main Street, Santa Paula. It is handicapped accessible through the side gate.

The Rowans perform their own music and Acoustic roots/Americana with a splash of Bluegrass. Their most recent CD is “Now and Then.” Both record and perform on their own and with others. Their trademarks are tight harmonies and haunting melodies underscored by crisp guitar and mandolin. With their older brother Peter Rowan, who has performed for the Concert Series in the past, they have also recorded several albums including “Sibling Rivalry”, “Tree on a Hill” and “Crazy People”.  Lorin’s song “Soldier of the Cross” is the title track of country artist Ricky Skaggs’ Grammy winning CD. Their CDs will be available at the artists’ reception following the concert.

The Rowans are longtime musical collaborators with Rev. Maddie Sifantus, director of the concert series and minister of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula. She will join them on several songs. The next morning, May 20 at 10:30 AM, they will provide the music as she presents a worship service based on Lorin’s song “Pathways of the Heart.”

The Universalist Unitarian Church of Santa Paula has been home to a number of musical events throughout its 129-year history. Admission is $20 donation at the door, from the church office during office hours, or by PayPal on the church’s website: www.uucsp.org. Children 12 and under are $10; children 5 and under are free.
