Sex Registrant Compliance Check in Simi Valley

On Friday, June 29, 2018, a multi-agency operation was conducted in Simi Valley to check compliance of individuals required to register as sex offenders who are currently on parole or probation. 

The State and County agencies involved were brought together by the County’s High Technology Task Force (HTTF). The agencies participating in the operation included Ventura County Probation, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, State Parole, Homeland Security Investigations, Simi Valley Police Department, Santa Paula Police Department, Ventura Police Department, and Ventura County D.A. Bureau of Investigations. 

During the operation four separate teams conducted compliance checks at 21 locations in Simi Valley and the area known as Santa Susana Knolls. The operation was focused on determining compliance related to the misuse of technological devices in violation of the terms of release. 

The operation resulted in the arrest of five sex registrants for violation of parole or probation terms. Two collateral arrests were made for a felony warrant and for possession of drugs. As a result of the operation, several investigations are being conducted in relation to possession of child pornography. The HTTF is forensically searching several devices that were collected during the operation and additional arrests could be made.
