Simi Valley: DUI Arrest with .34 Blood Alcohol Level during afternoon commute

On 11/7/17 at 6:45 P.M., Motorcycle Officer Matt Cartwright located a vehicle driving at night without headlights illuminated. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt. Officer Cartwright stopped the driver in the area of Galt Street and Los Angeles Avenue. 

Officer Cartwright arrested the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol and retrieved a .33 / .34 blood alcohol level during the investigation. The driver, Steven Voda, age 47 of Simi Valley was booked into the Ventura County Jail and his vehicle was legally parked in a parking space due to legal requirements. 

The Traffic Bureau wanted to let the community know that DUI drivers can be on the roadway at any time, even during a busy afternoon or early evening commute. If you see someone driving erratic or improper, please notify our dispatch center. Working together, we can eradicate DUI from our community.

    Steven Voda, or is it Steven Vodka, surprises me that he was able to even drive a vehicle with that high an alcohol blood level.
