Simi Valley Pursuit Ends with Arrest of Burglary Suspects

On 11/10/17 at approximately 3:20 AM, the Simi Valley Police Department received a call from the owner of the Mobil Gas Station located at 2500 Tapo Canyon Rd., Simi Valley. He stated that his business was being burglarized by two suspects and that he was watching it occur, via remote video.

SVPD units responded and upon arrival, saw one of the suspects fleeing the business on foot, northbound on Tapo Canyon Rd. toward the SR 118 on ramp. He was immediately detained. The second suspect was seen fleeing in a vehicle, from behind the business. He entered SR 118 eastbound toward Los Angeles. SVPD units were able pick up the suspect vehicle near the Yosemite Ave. off ramp and a pursuit was initiated. An LAPD airship was also called in to assist in the pursuit.

The suspect eventually exited at Glen Oaks where a PIT maneuver was used to stop the vehicle. The suspect was then taken into custody. There were no injuries. Both suspects were subsequently booked at the Ventura County Jail. The charges include, Burglary, Conspiracy, Resisting Arrest and Attempting to Evade.
