Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On March 7, 2019, at approximately 1:30 PM, SVPD Detectives conducted a surveillance on a stolen vehicle in the area of Angela St. and Vanessa St. During this surveillance, the Suspect, later identified as Michael Laser (age 27) from Simi Valley, entered the stolen vehicle and departed. Marked SVPD Patrol Units attempted to stop Laser. Laser failed to yield, resulting in a police pursuit.
During this pursuit, Laser was involved in a non-injury traffic accident in the area of Stearns St. and Los Angeles Ave. Laser continued to flee, in an unsafe manner, at which time the pursuit was terminated. It was later confirmed Laser had a felony warrant.
On March 8, 2019, Laser was arrested in LA County, where the stolen vehicle was recovered. Laser was booked into LA County Jail. SVPD Detectives are conducting follow up and plan on submitting a Warrant Declaration for the felony pursuit and hit and run violation.
