Simi Valley: Short Pursuit leads to arrest of motorcyclist

On 3/18/17 at approximately 1:26 AM, a traffic officer from the SVPD announced, via radio, that he witnessed a motorcyclist driving in excess of 100 mph, in the area of Tapo Canyon Rd. and Cochran St., in the City of Simi Valley. An SVPD motor officer found the subject in the area of Cochran St. and Tracy Ave, and attempted to catch up to the rider.

A pursuit was initiated which took them s/b on Sequoia Ave. to the new housing tract in the area of Sequoia Ave. and Fir Ave. The motorcyclist eventually crashed his motorcycle and began to flee on foot. The motor officer took chase and was eventually able to detain the suspect and take him into custody. VC Fire and AMR Ambulance were summoned to care for the motorcyclists injuries.

He was subsequently transported to Las Robles Hospital for treatment. The motorcyclist, Anthony Peterman (26 yrs.) of Thousand Oaks, was charged with, Evading a Peace Officer (Felony), Reckless Driving, Resisting a Peace Officer and DUI. He was booked at the Ventura County Jail.
